Nicholas Pooran guides West Indies to victory over Bangladesh

Captain Nicholas Pooran steered the West Indies to a 35 runs victory over Bangladesh in the third and final T/20 International match up in Dominica yesterday. 

This to help the Caribbean side complete a two nil series whitewash of the visitors, after the first game ended in a no result. 

Pooran who was named player of the series and man of the match cracked a half century 74 off 39 balls, as the Caribbean side chasing 164 runs for victory scored 169 for 5 off 18 overs and two balls.

Pooran’s knock was coloured by five fours and five sixes and he was well supported by opener Kyle Mayers who raced to 55 off 38 deliveries. 

This against Nasum Ahmed 2 for 44. 

Earlier the visitors taking first strike scored 163 for 5, led by Afif Hosain with an even 50 and opener Litton Das who scored 49.

Bowling for the ‘Windies’ Hayden Walsh Junior bagged 2 for 25 , with a wicket each for Odean Smith and Romario Shepherd. 

The two teams will now turn their attention to the three match one day International  series which bowls off on Sunday in providence, Guyana.
