Projections indicate that drought affecting the island could become worse

The drought affecting the island could become worse.

This as Water Minister Matthew Samuda says projections indicate that May through to July could be drier than usual.

Noting that below average rainfall was experienced in October last year and this trend continued through to February, Mr. Samuda said the impacts could be severe.

He said while there was a slight increase in rainfall in March, this was insufficient to improve water levels significantly and rainfall again decreased in April.
