Principal of the Muschette High School in Wakefield, Trelawny, Leighton Johnson says of the approximately 800 students enrolled at the institution, only 118 attended classes this morning (June 19).

Mr Johnson explains that this is due to the withdrawal of service by taxi operators protesting poor road conditions.

He says the strike has severely impacted his school’s operation, as preparation workshops for NCTVET students were scheduled for today.

Mr Johnson says he observed students from other institutions walking to school.
