The West Indies remain unbeaten at ICC World Cup qualifiers

The West Indies, thanks to centuries by captain Shai Hope and Nicolas Pooran, ran out 101 run winners over Nepal in their second game at ICC World Cup qualifiers at the Harare Sports Complex in Zimbabwe.

The windies batting first, racked up a daunting 339 for 7 from their 50 overs with hope slamming 132 from 129 balls….a knock that included 10 fours and 3 sixes.

This while sharing in a double-century 4th wicket partnership of 215 with Pooran who blasted 10 fours and 4 sixes on his way to 115 from 94 deliveries.

Brandon King 32 and Rovman Powell 29 were the other leading batsmen against Lalit Rajbanshi who took 3 for 52.

Jason Holder who was unbeaten on 16 then returned to bag 3 for 34 as Nepal were dismissed for 238 in the 50th over.

He was aided by the trio of Alzari joseph, Akeal hossein and Keemo Paul who took 2 wickets each.

Aarif Sheik was Nepal’s top scorer with 63.

The West Indies will next be in action against tournament host Zimbabwe on Saturday.
