Johnson-Smith lists reasons for Jamaica’s exclusion from Canada’s ‘visa free’ travel list
The use of unapproved entities in the Canadian visa application process is among a raft of red flags identified as reasons Jamaica was not included in a recent ‘Visa-free’ travel list.
Foreign affairs minister Kamina Johnson-Smith made the revelation while speaking during the Let’s connect with ambassador Audrey Marks virtual forum on Thursday evening.
Some Jamaicans are reportedly upset about the country being left off what they deem the visa free travel list.
Johnson-Smith clarified that the Canadian programme, is not visa free, rather, an adjustment in requirements.
She assured that the ministry is continuing efforts to have Jamaica included on the next travel list.
