The Education Ministry will embark on a pilot project to install solar panels in public schools islandwide.

That’s according to Education Minister Fayval Williams.

She was answering questions at a back to school board chairmen roundtable at the weekend.

According to Mrs Williams, the cost for electricity is very high as such, the government is embarking on this move to reduce costs.

She said the initiative is being fine tuned before installation begins.
