Sunshine girls Defender Latanya Wilson was left lost for words after receiving the keys to a brand-new home… following an elaborate handover ceremony at the Ministry of sport yesterday.

Wilson, enjoyed a successful season in Australia where she won the Suncorp Super Netball league title with the Adelaide Thunderbirds before helping the Sunshine girls to the bronze medal at the Netball World Cup in South Africa.

However, she suffered a personal tragedy when her home was destroyed by fire in August.

The National Housing Trust (NHT) placed the 22-year-old and her family on a special lease and Minister of sport, Olivia ‘Babsy’ Grange, ……….said she is happy that the NHT was able to step forward to provide a permanent solution to the crisis.  

Meanwhile, netball Jamaica president Tricia Robinson said losing a house is a traumatic experience and thanked all those on board for coming to the player’s rescue.
