Summerfield residents urged to work with cops to prevent community becoming crime hotspot, following quadruple murder

The Clarendon police are urging residents of Summerfield in the parish to work with lawmen to prevent the community becoming a crime hotspot.

This, after the relatively calm community, in the Chapleton police area, was disrupted early this morning, due to a quadruple murder.

44-year-old Kish Brown, a shop operator of line road in the community, along with Theo Manning, Varrel Manning and a man known only as ‘Rasta’ or ‘Tumpa were shot and killed at the Cookshop at around 1: 15 A.M.

Speaking with IRIE FM news, Acting Assistant Commissioner of Police, Glenford Miller stressed the importance of citizens collaborating with cops to maintain the peace and safety long enjoyed in Summerfield.

Noting that this morning’s shooting has incited fear among residents, he said the Constabulary will be providing support to the victims’ families and other members of the community.

Citizens can make anonymous reports to crime stop at 311, the NIB tip line at 811, or by calling the nearest police station.
