St James records another double murder

St James has recorded another double murder.

Three people were shot, while attending a candlelight vigil in Sam Sharpe Square, Montego-Bay.

Dead are: 35-year-old Jeffrey Woodstock, a fruit vendor of Greens Norwood and Crawford Street in Mount Salem, St. James, and 27-year-old Kitania Tomlinson, a car rental operator Providence Heights in Flanker, St. James.

Reports from the Montego-Bay police are that about 10:15 p.m., the two were among

persons attending a candlelight vigil, when armed men opened gunfire at the group.

When the shooting subsided, Woodstock, Tomlinson and another man were seen with gunshot wounds.

They were taken to hospital, where Woodstock and Tomlinson were pronounced dead.

The other man was admitted in serious condition.

Meantime, about 10:30 p.m. two men were shot one fatally on Emerson Avenue in New Haven, Kingston 20.

The deceased has been identified 23-year-old Andrew Brown, a labourer of Emerson Avenue.

Reports from the hunts bay police are that about 10:30 p.m., the men were among patrons at an establishment, when they were approached by armed men.

The hoodlums opened gunfire at the group causing the men to run in various directions. Brown was reportedly chased and shot several times.

The police were summoned and upon their arrival, Brown and another man were seen with gunshot wounds.

They were taken to hospital; Brown was pronounced dead on arrival and the other man admitted in serious but stable condition.
