Prime Minister Andrew Holness says efforts will be ramped up to address crime in Ocho Rios, St. Ann, especially as the festive season approaches.

His announcement came at a Jamaica Labour Party Conference at the Marcus Garvey Technical High School last evening and followed a number of murders in Ocho Rios recently.

Noting that he wants Ocho Rios to be a place where tourists like anyone else can walk freely, Mr. Holness said before that can be achieved, the issue of crime must be addressed.

He said actions to remedy the issue will begin shortly.
