Education Minister Fayval Williams says it will cost about $30 to $35 billion Jamaican over an 8-year period to transform the education sector.

She made the statement at the Education Transformation Oversight Committee, ETOC, press conference on Wednesday morning.

However, Mrs Williams said this is just an estimate and the annual budget will determine the exact expenditure.

She said a large portion of this transformation will go towards technology and infrastructure.

She noted that the estimates have already been presented to cabinet for approval.
