Eight persons shot, three fatally, in separate incidents in Kingston and St. Andrew yesterday 

Eight persons were shot, three fatally, in separate incidents in Kingston and St. Andrew yesterday (November 2). 

In the latest incident, 35-year-old Daniel Ramsay, otherwise called ‘Saddam’, of Maryland District Gordon Town in St. Andrew was shot and killed by unknown assailants on Old Hope Road.

Police say at about 9:45 p.m. residents heard explosions and summoned them. 

On the lawmen’s arrival, Ramsay was seen along the roadway with gunshot wounds. 

He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

In the second incident, 34-year-old Romaine Maragh, otherwise called ‘Coolie’ and 26-year-old Desmore Mckenzie, otherwise called ‘Nico’, were shot and killed in Rema, Kingston.

Police say at about 7:30 p.m., Maragh and Mckenzie were among a group of people sitting along the roadway playing dominoes. 

It is reported that a white Toyota motorcar drove up, and four men alighted from the vehicle, opening gunfire. 

They escaped in the awaiting car.

The police were alerted, and on their arrival, seven people, including a 10-year-old, were taken to hospital.

Maragh and Mckenzie died on arrival, and the other five were admitted for treatment.

Investigations are ongoing into the shooting incidents.
