Entertainers support Reggae Girlz stance against JFF

Ziggy Marley and Cecile are some of the entertainers reacting on social media after Cedella Marley revealed that the Reggae Girlz are disappointed with the Jamaica Federation of Football (JFF).

According to the press release shared by Cedella, instead of preparing to compete on the world’s largest stage, the Reggae Girlz continue to express their concerns over transportation, training conditions, accommodations, compensation, communication, and accessibility to proper resources.

It further states, in part, that due to extreme disorganization of camp logistics, the Reggae Girlz have missed several official FIFA friendly matches.

In the caption, Reggae Girlz Ambassador Cedella Marley, wrote, “If you don’t stand for something you fall for everything.”

Ziggy Marley in the comment section cheered his sister on, “Great works”, he wrote.

While Dancehall entertainer Cecile, shared, “Wow. I really hope they do better. This is really sad to see. And yall work so hard.”

The Reggae Girlz will represent Jamaica in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup that will be held in the Oceanic regions of Australia and New Zealand.

The competition will run from July 20, 2023 through to the final, exactly a month later on August 20, 2023.
