One taxi group is reporting a high level of compliance among passengers and operators of public passenger vehicles in relation to the fare increase.

President of the Transport Operators Development Sustainable Services, (TODSS), Egeton Newman who is travelling across the island said the day has been going well.

Fares went up by 19 percent on Sunday . However, today is the first business day since the new fares.

He said though some passengers are paying the old fare his colleagues have been understanding.
