Jamaica’s first artisan village slated to open next month

The country’s first artisan village, which has seen several missed deadlines is slated to open next month.

Tourism minister, Edmund Bartlett made the disclosure while speaking to reporters in Westmoreland on Sunday.

The artisan village, which was first announced in 2016, will be located at Old Hampden wharf in Falmouth, Trelawny.

Mr Bartlett explained, that the village will sell authentic Jamaican products.

He also noted that visitors will have an opportunity to leave a design with an artisan and pay and collect the finished product later.

Visitors will also be able to enjoy entertainment and food within the village, allowing for a complete cultural experience.
