A man is dead and his two children hospitalized with gunshot wounds, after they were attacked and shot by unknown assailants in Old Harbour, St. Catherine last evening (October 7).

Dead is 34-year-old Lance Hutchinson, a security guard of Terminal Road.

Police reports are that about 8:20 p.m., Hutchinson was on his way from a shop ,when he was pounced upon by gunmen at his gate. 

He ran inside his house and locked himself in.

However the gunmen gained entry by kicking in the back door, then opened gunfire on Hutchinson and his two children. 

The police were alerted by residents and Hutchinson and his children were assisted by the lawmen to hospital.

He succumbed and his children were admitted.
