Operations at the National Solid Waste Management Authority’s Spanish Town Road facility are temporarily delayed, following a shooting incident at the facility’s entrance this morning.

The Authority’s Executive Director, Audley Gordon says the incident occurred at about 5 A.M.

Mr. Gordon noted that preliminary reports suggest that a staff member was killed but offered no further details on the matter.

He explained, however, that due to the police conducting a thorough investigation, and processing the crime scene, there might be disruptions in the service of the Authority.

He said the Authority’s thoughts are with those affected by this incident, and that it remains dedicated to maintaining a safe and secure environment for all.
