Some Ocho Rios Primary School students who consumed drug-infused sweets resume classes

Some of the Ocho Rios Primary School students who consumed drug-infused sweets have resumed attending classes.

This after they were hospitalised for a couple days for observation and treatment.

The students are among 65 who were initially taken to the St Ann’s Bay Hospital, when they began to display adverse reactions to the sweets.

Speaking to IRIE FM news Principal of Ocho Rios Primary Suzette Barnes-Wilson said the students who fell ill have been recuperating well.

She said administrators have increased sensitization about what students should, and should not, purchase.

The children reportedly bought the sweets from an unfamiliar vendor.

Police have launched a search for the male vendor, and have listed Devon Holness of Mansfield Heights, Ocho Rios as a person of interest in the case.
