A man was fatally shot by the police, after he reportedly cut the throat of his common law wife, shortly before noon today (October 29).

The deceased has been identified as 36-year-old Kemar Robinson of Bendon, St. Catherine.

Police report that minutes before midday, Robinson attacked his common law wife and cut her throat.

The police were called, and he was reportedly shot in an alleged confrontation with the lawmen.

Robinson and the woman were taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead, and she was admitted for treatment.

Irie FM News understands that her condition is critical.
