Strong 23 member senior Reggae Girls team named for FIFA Women’s World Cup

A strong 23 member senior reggae girls team led by inspirational captain Khadijah ‘bunny’ Shaw have been selected by head coach Lorne Donaldson and his staff to represent Jamaica at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. 

The rest of the team also includes homegrown talents Jody Brown, Trudy Carter and  Denisha Blackwood and Konya Plummer. 

The team also features Allyson Swaby, Atlanta Primus, Chantelle Swaby, Cheyna Matthews , Drew Spence,  Havana Solaun, Kalyssa Van-zanten, Kameron Simmonds, Kayla Mckenna, Liya Brooks, Paige Bailey-Gayle, Peyton Mcnamara and Rebecca Spencer.

It is completed by Solai Sashington, Sydney Schneider, Tiernny Wiltshire, Tiffany Cameron and Vyan Sampson while Sashana Campbell is the alternate. 

The reggae girls who will stage a camp in Amsterdam before going off to the world cup,  are drawn in group f and will tackle France, Panama and Brazil. 

The tournament runs from July 20 to August 20 . 

This is the second consecutive appearance for the Reggae girlz at the FIFA women’s World Cup following their debut appearance in France, back in 2019.
