Teejay ‘Drifts’ into international deal with Warner Music Group

From accumulating 20 million streams for his latest hit ‘Drift’ to inking a deal with Warner Music Group, Dancehall entertainer Teejay is in full celebratory mode.

On Thursday, the Up Top Boss’ signed a publishing deal in Manhattan with American Record Label, Warner Music Group. Teejay now joins the likes of Ed Sheeran, Charlie Puth, Dua Lipa, Clean Bandit, and Blake Shelton among others.

Guy Moot, Co-Chair and CEO of Warner Chappell Music (WCM), the publishing arm of Warner Music Group, said he was happy to see Dancehall music and another Jamaican artist on the global rise.

Meanwhile, Teejay, in an Instagram post, credited the deal to his latest hit Drift which was released in April. “Damn look what Drift did”, he wrote in the caption of a picture slide of himself with Warner Music executives and his manager, Sharon Burke.

In 2021, Solid Agency’s Sharon Burke took over management of Teejay after his exit from Romeich Entertainment.

Last month, Teejay announced that his eight-track EP, titled I Am Chippy, will be released by Ranch Entertainment and VP Records.
