11 vendors affected by fire at Shoe Market in Montego Bay receive grants

Eleven vendors affected by a fire at the Shoe Market in Montego Bay St. James last year, were each given a cheque of sixty thousand dollars ($60,000) in grant funding by the Labour Ministry, yesterday. 

Portfolio Minister Pearnel Charles Junior said the monetary support comes after an appeal was made by the political representatives of the area, on the vendors behalf.  

Mr. Charles Junior said of the 80 vendors affected, only 43 submitted documents to the government, but he expects more submissions.
