Seven men were arrested on Wednesday in Half Way Tree after being suspected of extorting operators of Public Passenger Vehicles.

Head of the Police’s Traffic Enforcement Branch Assistant Commissioner of Police Gary McKenzie said the men will soon be charged.

He said police believe the extortions are gang related.

He said though affected operators have been reluctant in coming forward, they used police surveillance to apprehend the accused.
