The administration of the Anchovy High School, in St James, says the National Solid Waste Management Authority, NSWMA, has promised to address the garbage pile-up, at the institution, within the next 48 hours.

A video showing a pile-up of garbage at the school, surfaced on social media on Monday, sparking public concern, that students and staff were being exposed, to an unhealthy environment.

School principal Lavern Stewart, said she spoke with an NSWMA representative on Monday, and was assured, that the matter will be addressed, in short order.

Ms. Stewart noted, that despite having to make several calls about the garbage issue to the NSWMA, she believes the garbage will be removed soon.
