Reports are that at about 10 AM, armed men traveling on a motorcycle accosted the businessman, as he was driving along the main road.

 

In his bid to escape, the businessman crashed his vehicle.

 

The gunmen reportedly opened fire on the vehicle, hitting the businessman.

 

They took an undisclosed sum of cash from him, then fled the area.

 

The wounded businessman was taken to hospital and admitted for treatment.

 

Reacting to the incident, Councillor for the Junction division, Cetany Holness said residents are concerned and fearful, as this is the latest in a series of recent criminal activity, including break-ins, robberies and shootings.
