Jamaica to receive the 50 garbage trucks approved in cabinet this year, in a few days

Executive Director of the National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA) Audley Gordon says Jamaica will receive the 50 garbage trucks approved in cabinet this year, in short order.

 

Last month Prime Minister Andrew Holness tweeted that the garbage trucks were on their way to Jamaica and were expected to arrive at the end of October.

 

However, speaking with IRIE FM News today, Mr. Gordon said they are slated to arrive this month.

 

 

The update regarding the arrival of the garbage trucks comes as citizens across the island are raising concern about garbage piling up in their communities.

 

Some schools have also been impacted.
