Member of Parliament Caretaker for St. James West Central, Dr. Andre Haughton has expressed concern at the recent spate of murders in the community of Mount Salem.

Since the start of the week at least three murders have been committed in the community.

Police have not yet established a motive for the killings.

Speaking to Irie FM News this morning, Dr.. Haughton described the incidents as tragic.

He said although the area is under a Zone of Special Operation, ZOSO, other serious measures must be implemented.

He said the government must also improve the resources aimed at steering youth away from criminal activities.
