30-year-old Ricardo Jarrett was assigned to the Darling Street Police Station.

 

Police say about 3 AM, District Constable Jarrett was reportedly dropping off a female when he was pounced upon by several armed men and shot.

 

He was assisted to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

His firearm was also reportedly stolen.

The JCF says its Chaplaincy Branch and Welfare Department is providing support to the family members, colleagues and friends of District Constable Jarrett.
